C’River Youth Sey Make Otu Go for Second Term

 


Plenty youths for Cross River State don come out talk say dem want make Governor Bassey Otu run again for second term, as dem also launch one campaign wey dem call Not-Too-Young-To-Lead to ginger more young people enter politics.

Di whole matter happen for Calabar, where youth leaders, government people and stakeholders gather do one big programme. Di event no just be ordinary gathering, as e end with youths giving Governor Otu vote of confidence after dem waka round all di 18 local government areas go check projects with their own eyes.

NYCN Chairman for di state, Olayi Emmanuel, talk say dis support no be arranged or forced, but na wetin dem see by themselves.

 “We no just siddon dey hear gist. We waka round all di LGAs go see wetin dey happen. Wetin we see show say government dey work true-true,” Olayi tok.

E still talk say di Not-Too-Young-To-Lead campaign na to push young people make dem no just dey follow politics from back, but make dem come out contest and lead.

 “Young people get capacity. Time don reach wey we go no just dey support, but we go lead too,” e add.

Di Deputy Governor, Peter Odey, sef yarn say wetin di youths do don help clear doubt for mind of many people wey dey always judge government based on old failures.

 “Plenty people dey always doubt government, but dis one wey youths go check projects by themselves show say no be just talk. Work dey ground,” Odey tok.

E come still highlight say di government don do plenty work, especially for road construction, hospitals and youth empowerment.

 “Dis government no be for social media promises. Na real projects wey you fit see with your eye,” e add.

Commissioner for Youth Development, Barr. Ijom Ukam, talk say government dey serious about giving young people chance, both for appointment and for elective positions.

“If you check well, plenty young people don come out contest for different positions. Government don create space, na for youths to step up,” Ukam tok.

E still advise young people wey wan run for office make dem follow party rules and prepare well, so that dem go fit achieve their political dreams.

Di high point of di event na when di youths openly endorse Governor Otu and him deputy for second term, say dem go support am come 2027.

Dem still talk say all di projects wey dem see,  like roads, airport development and other investments, show say better future dey come for young people for di state.

As di programme end, di youths promise say dem go continue to push for more involvement of young people for leadership, make dem no just dey sidelines again but dey inside decision-making.
