The Chairman of Youth Council of Nigeria (YCN), Cross River Chapter, Emmanuel Olayi, tok dis one during di Town hall meeting wey do state hold for Abuja to celebration Otu three years anniversary for office.

According to am, the youths for Cross River dey happy with wetin di governor don achieve so far, especially di way e don carry young people join bodi for government and leadership matta.

Olayi say as representative of Cross River youths, e come thank Governor Otu for di opportunities wey e don create for young people to grow, learn skills and contribute to di development of di state.

"His Excellency don show over and over say e get love for young people. Na why we come dey appreciate am for di deliberate effort wey e dey make to carry youths along for governance and leadership," Olayi tok.

Di youth leader also use di chance hand over di report from di state-wide Future First Unity and Assessment Tour wey dem carry go all di local government areas for di state.

According to am, di tour give dem chance to hear directly from young people about their challenges, expectations and suggestions on how government fit do better.

As part of the event, Olayi also present wetin di Youths call "Seal of Appreciation and Endorsement" to Governor Otu on behalf of Cross River youths.

E explain say di recognition come out from the grand finale of di state-wide youth unity and assessment tour, and na way of appreciating di governor for im commitment to youth development and empowerment.

Di NYCN chairman also remember di "Not Too Young To Lead" campaign wey di council launch before party primaries. According to am, shortly after di campaign, many young people get opportunity to contest and secure party tickets.

E come call on other political parties and leaders to dey intentional about youth inclusion, saying young people suppose no just dey follow politics from back, but make dem dey involved for decision-making too.

Olayi still advise youths for di state make dem take responsibility and use every opportunity wey dem get to contribute positively to society.

NYCN Sey Dem Happy wit Work for Coastal Highway, As 500 Youth Don Get Job

 

CALABAR – National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) don praise the way youths dey take benefit from the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway project, as dem reveal say over 500 young Nigerians don get work for the construction area.

Dis praise come after NYCN leaders go inspect the Calabar side of the road. The team na Emmanuel Olayi lead am, as part of their “Future First” project check program.

As Olayi dey talk during the visit, e describe the project as beta development wey show say government serious about infrastructure and youth matter. E talk say from wetin dem see and hear from workers, more than 500 youths dey work for the project, and over 300 of dem don already become contract staff for HITECH Construction Company.

“We waka the road ourselves and wetin we see no be story, na real development,” Olayi tok. “As youth leaders, we gatz confirm dis kind projects so we go fit talk to our people with proof.”

Olayi still praise HITECH say dem try well-well to use local people, talk say the level wey youths take dey involved na good sign for empowerment and skill growth.

Apart from jobs, Olayi hail the quality of the road work, say the thickness and design of the concrete show say the road go strong and last long.

“For me, dis na one of the best road projects wey I don see. The way dem design am, the width and materials show say na correct standard dem follow,” he add.

E still talk say the coastal highway go help economy well, as e go connect states better, increase business and open new opportunities for places wey dey along the road like Cross River.

NYCN still thank Bola Ahmed Tinubu for starting the project under him Renewed Hope agenda, and also praise the Minister of Works, David Umahi, for how e dey supervise the work.

As people dey worry whether government go continue the project, Olayi clear air say dem don already secure money for am, so e no go stop even if government change.

“Dis project dey bring hope to our people. E don already start to dey make impact, and we believe say when dem complete am, e go bring plenty economic benefit,” he tok.
